Fix “Phone Carrier Not Supported” on Tinder — Number or Carrier?

If Tinder isn’t accepting your phone number, it may be your phone carrier’s fault, but that’s not everything.

Something is going awry on Tinder’s end, making it difficult for you SPECIFICALLY to sign up for an account.

What this means, how to fix it, and how to avoid it will all be covered in this article!

Why is Tinder not accepting your phone number?

There aren’t many cryptic reasons why Tinder won’t let you use your phone number. The answer is quite clear…

There is something wrong with the phone number itself, which means Tinder is deliberately keeping you from signing up with your #.

1. When your phone carrier isn’t supported.

A “phone carrier” is a company that makes it possible for you to use the very essentials of your phone—connecting to networks, making calls, sending texts, and so on.

This could go in two ways:

1.1. You’ve gotten your phone number from a free, public temporary number, and unreliable service for a one-time use just to make a Tinder account.

Not only are these numbers mass-used by people, but Tinder has also started noticing when users are using these virtual numbers or VoIP.

1.2. Tinder does not support your phone carrier.

This is very unlikely, but yeah. Your phone may be supported by a phone carrier that is not in Tinder’s books.

2. Your number has been blacklisted.

To get blacklisted from Tinder, you would first have to get banned so that when you try and come back, Tinder will actively push you away.

Additionally, it’s no surprise dating apps store banned members’ info (phone numbers, names, emails, etc.) for this very reason.

DatingZest: get a phone number that’s supported by the mighty Tinder!

If your phone number isn’t working then it’s simple…just get a new one!

Not just from anywhere though, because as you know, Tinder prevents people who have borrowed public phone numbers from joining their platform.

DatingZest’s Tinder Phone Numbers have proven to be effective in letting people sign up for a new account, despite them being banned at some point.

And what’s more important, it protects your privacy because you wouldn’t be using your own phone number.

1. Drop what you’re doing. If your phone number isn’t working, do not trigger the system any more than you already have.

2. Go to DatingZest’s Tinder Phone Numbers and purchase one—you get 2 phone numbers for 10 bucks, by the way.

3. After it’s complete, you’ll get an email confirming your purchase. Go back to the DatingZest page and wait for your phone number to show up.

4. Go to Tinder once again and put in DZ’s phone number to get your code!

5. Go back to DZ’s page to retrieve your code. Put the code on Tinder as well to access your brand-new account.

– Before you do this, feel free to keep retrying with your actual phone number.

We still don’t know what’s causing this problem for sure—it could be a technical problem for all we know.

And since I’m on your side here, I advise you to keep trying. Exit Tinder, delete the app, and re-install it again to re-try the same process.

I doubt it’ll fix the issue, but at least you can’t say you didn’t try.

– Try with Tinder Support.

Again, I really doubt you can get the help you need, but submitting a request to Tinder to go over the whole issue might catch Tinder’s attention.

Choose “Trouble With Account login” as your issue, and then specify as you see fit (whether you can’t sign up, update your number, and so on).

After this, type down your contact info and describe your problem as clearly as possible under the “Description” box.

Which phone carriers does Tinder support?

Basically all the reputable ones from your country—not the shady ones you can get from a corner shop without a name! A sim-card-based phone number, basically.

For example, popular phone carriers in the US include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Mint Mobile, etc.

If you’re from the UK, these are some of your best choices: EE, O2, Three, and Vodafone.

For my French readers, we have Orange, SFR, Bouygues Telecom, and more.

The 3 biggest mobile carriers in Japan are NTT Docomo, KDDI, and SoftBank.

Guten Tag! If you’re in Germany, try these out: Telekom, 1&1, Blau, Vodafone, etc.

You live in Canada? Don’t worry! These phone carriers will help you out: Rogers Wireless, Telus Mobility, and Bell Mobility.

And as for Australia, you can go with one of the 3: Telstra, Optus, or Vodafone.

If you don’t know where to start, feel free to Google the best phone carriers in your country.

You or your phone carrier — Where does Tinder’s grudge lie?

It’s not that easy because Tinder doesn’t come out, flat-out telling you the reason you can’t sign up or log in is that you’re banned.

If you can use your phone number on other dating apps (Bumble, Grindr, Coffee Meets Bagel, Hinge, etc.), Tinder likely has a problem with you.

As for fellow Match Group apps (Hinge, Plenty of Fish, OkCupid, and the rest), you usually get banned automatically if you’re banned on one of the sites.

Another sign is if your phone number worked on Tinder up until recently.

In any case, contact Tinder and wait a bit. If that doesn’t work, you can always rely on DatingZest: the foolproof, best way of getting back on Tinder.

Don’t give up!
